In a survey of UK, French and German midmarket and large companies, Quocirca found that only 22% of all the businesses surveyed were completely satisfied that their print infrastructure was secure. That could be an awkward conversation to have in the age of stringent data privacy.

GDPR compliance and secure printing in particular can seem daunting. Yet businesses need to get these areas locked down or else face potential fines of €20 million (£17.6 million) or 4% of their global turnover – after a slow start, hefty GDPR fines are starting to happen – almost 100 in conservative estimates as of February.

The other reminder from this is that GDPR isn’t all about online data – breaches can also occur as a result of documents carelessly left at printers or around the office. But companies operating a standardised printer fleet are 26% less likely to suffer data loss.
